Me among the Pharaohs (again)

Two years ago I was in the British Museum, live-painting in close proximity to the great artefacts of ancient Greece and Egypt.

And back in 2011 I was in the Petrie Museum of Egyptology at the University of London, exhibiting book art.

This year I have been in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo which is as you can imagine THE greatest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts anywhere in the world.

The exhibition is “A night with Art at the Egyptian Museum”, organised by the Art D’Egypte organisation. Works by Egypt’s leading  artists shared wall space with statues, monuments, papyri and other sumptuous Pharaonic relics at Cairo’s Egyptian Museum this week in an exhibition highlighting ancient influences on contemporary art. I’m very honoured to be a part of this!

I exhibited a very big painting The Gentle Giant, at the top of this post. Unfortunately the press agency didn’t give me a namecheck! Here it is in the studio, so you can see how big it is.
